General Information
"When you manage to achieve this sort of effect
in your system, you suddenly find yourself able to hear more easily
into the recording"
Hi-Fi+ Nov/Dec 2001
RINGMAT FEET control the mechanical and electrical vibrations which
otherwise contaminate the sound quality of hi-fi and the sound and
picture of audio visual systems. These are natural by-products of
any hi-fi or audio visual setup, which cause loss of information
and signal phase distortions.
RINGMAT FEET minimise the effect of vibrations where components
are placed upon shelves or other forms of support, including many
types of anti-vibration platform.
You’ll notice the difference immediately. Just place RINGMAT
FEET under each foot of a relevant component and hear your playback
come to life.
Our mission: to achieve the perfect sound
RINGMAT FEET are one of a family of Ringmat products which effectively
reduce information loss and phase distortion. Ringmat Developments
continually researches new techniques in its quest to eliminate
unwanted vibrations.
The Ringmat Feet are constructed according to Ringmat principles
of dispersing vibration into the air in a controlled manner without
oscillation. They consist of two plastic discs between which are
a cork ring and a poron spiral spring - poron is a rapid recovery
material used in the aerospace industry. There are two foam rings
under the lower disc and cork ring flexes the lower plastic disc
between the foam rings. On the top is a smaller, centrally placed,
plastic covered steel disc which flexes the top plastic disc within
the cork ring below.
RINGMAT FEET have been designed using the same technology developed
for Ringmat Developments’ core products, the RINGMAT SUPPORT
SYSTEM (RSS) and STATMAT. Using FEET in conjunction with RSS and
STATMAT will improve sound quality even further. In the case of
Audio Visual systems, the picture also.
Use RINGMAT FEET with:
Turntables
CD players
SACD players
DVD players
Tuners
Tape players
Amplifiers
A/V amplifiers
Power supplies
Loudspeakers
And any other hi-fi or audio visual component.

Ringmat technology at work
Constructed from a careful selection of materials, RINGMAT FEET
work in much the same way as RINGMAT and STATMAT. Together, they
disperse vibrational energy into the air in and around the FEET
and break the electromagnetic field between the component and its
support surface. The result: a cleaner, crisper sound, that’s
far more musical and closer to the original recording. In the case
of audio visual setups, an improved picture.
There are three types of RINGMAT FEET, each fulfilling its own
function: LW FEET and HD feet (light-weight and heavy-duty) disperse
vibrational energy, while ST FEET break the electromagnetic field
interference.
RINGMAT FEET are packaged as follows:
CONTENTS NOMINAL THICKNESS DIMENSIONS
For four-footed components up to 13kg
4 Ringmat LW Feet 7.7mm 73.5mm diameter
1 Ringmat ST Foot 0.03mm 89mm square
For three-footed components up to 10.5kg
3 Ringmat LW Feet 7.7mm 73.5mm diameter
1 Ringmat ST Feet 0.03mm 89mm square
For four-footed components from 13.5 to 21kg
4 Ringmat HD Feet 8.8mm 73.5mm diameter
1 Ringmat ST Feet 0.03mm 89mm square
For three-footed components from 11kg to 17kg
3 Ringmat HD Feet 8.8mm 73.5mm diameter
1 Ringmat ST Feet 0.03mm 89mm square
Weight limitations are approximate and depend on the nature and
shape of the component's own feet. Where these have a relatively
small contact area at the bottom of the feet, the above weight limitations
will need to be reduced accordingly. Conversely, if cones are used,
with the small contact area uppermost under the component itself,
the weight limitations could be increased.
