The "performance mat" that simply must be tried
- the results are astounding
In over 22 years we have experimented with countless platter
mats varying from felt, fiberglass, cork, graphite, carbon
fiber, acrylic, PVC, MDF, aluminium and steel laminates etc.
This is to name but a few. Many of these mats yeild significant
improvements, however we have just found a new material that
tops the lot by a large margin.
The benefit, immediately observable when you install the
new mat is a significant increase in clarity and articulation,
bass goes much deeper, instrument separation improves and
the whole sound becomes more lifelike, organic and coherent.
The mat is only 1.5mm thick which is well within the ability
of most tonearm height adjusters. The material mix from which
it is manufactured must remain confidential. Often the mat
works best when placed on top of an existing mat - for example
the Technics 1200 only needs the mat to be placed on top of
the existing rubber mat. The Linn LP 12 is improved by a subsititution
of the felt mat with the Origin Live mat but may sound even
better with a combination of both mats.
How much is this excellent upgrade? The £49 value is
in the extensive research that underpins the manufacture and
also the promotion necessitated. To eliminate any risk to
yourself, the mat comes with a money back guarantee if ordered
directly from Origin Live. Should you be in any way dissatisfied,
just return the mat for a full refund (excluding carriage).
Origin Live dealers may also offer a guarantee but this is
at their discretion.

Owner comments
"I bought the mat below a couple of weeks ago and promised
you some feedback.
Until this purchase, I was using the Isoplatmat, which had
given a significant upgrade on the standard plattermat I had
used before. I had a few listening to some favourite music
using my previous setup, just to get a reference point and
then replaced the Isoplatmat with your new one.
The music became more involving; and the instrument separation
was definitely superior, but the most noticeable improvement
was the clarity and depth of the bass - I could really here
the runs and note progressions far better than previously,
without it overpowering the rest of the instruments or vocals.
In general, the mat seems to bring out the music more, and
gives each instrument more presence, cementing its place in
the mix. Essentially, with the mat, you feel that much closer
to actually being in the studio than without it.
The only drawback I have noticed is that it seems to makes
you notice poor production a little more, but that's a compensation
I can live with.
For the price, I would recommended this absolutely.
Once again, Origin Live have come up with another very worthwhile
and value for money product. "

Have received my new platter mat and installed it on my AVID
DIVA (minus the 'tweak') and the results are amazing! Bass
deeper/cleaner and more dynamics plus greater mid/top resolution
and overall wider stage side to side and front to back. Best
fifty quid spent this year!
